Chris is not only a successful guitarist, he also is a successful music educator and guitar instructor for 25+ yrs and on going. Chris has taught 4,000 students since the 90's. studentS range from elementary, middle/Jr. High school, High school, College, adult students, singer/songwriters and hobbyist. Chris was Music Educator for Kids On Stage Of TN. Taught guitar to National and International students Since 1998 to 2021. Chris taught his students music theory, scales, chords, improvisation, and performance. Chris's students ranged from elementary, middle school, high school. Chris's students also learn. Basics of how the guitar works, notation reading, chord chart reading, how to play rhythm and lead guitar and how to analyze songs.
Chris Nashvillerocker® DiMella was raised in Miami, Florida. He started playing guitar as a young boy in the 3rd grade. Chris took lessons at local music stores, then played in rock bands did sessions throughout Rockway Jr. High and Southwest High school in Miami, FL. In the 80’s, Chris began studying jazz with many well-known and respected University of Miami players, including John Defaria and professor Randall Dollahon of the University Of Miami. Lessons didn’t come cheap, so Chris was forced to keep his day job to pay for lessons and gear.
After high school Chris was accepted to the prestigious Berklee School of Music. He left Berklee to study with esteemed University of Miami professor Randall Dollahon. “The Professor” taught Chris voice leading, reading, ear training, rhythm guitar and lead guitar, as well as the basics of preparing for playing in live and session situations.
While studying with Randall, Chris soon began getting calls for session work that included all styles of music: rock, blues, country, jazz, fusion. During one lucky session, Chris was introduced to a female singer who later became his wife. Looking for a place to settle down and build a family, Chris moved back to the birthplace of his mother and grandmother, Nashville, Tennessee. As of 2022 Chris Now spends time in Sanible Island,FL. and Franklin,TN.
Musically, it meant starting over with new styles to add to his repertoire (bluegrass and C&W music). Nashville and its wonderful people have embraced Chris and shown him his true calling. Chris has pursued a teaching degree so that he can help train others to achieve their dreams and share with them the joy that music has always brought into his life. Chris has recently joined ASCAP and now Nashvillerocker® is registered under ASCAP writer/Publishing
